AAP Condemns Commando Surinder Arrest

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) strongly condemns the arrest of one of the 26/11-Mumbai Terror attack heroes and former NSG Commando Mr. Surinder Singh. AAP MLA Mr. Singh represents the Delhi Cantonment assembly constituency.

It is shocking that a former Commando, who partially lost his hearing capacity during the 26/11 Mumbai Terror attacks at the Taj, is being treated in such a manner by the Delhi Police.

FIR was lodged against the MLA more than two weeks ago, questioning was done and he met the top brass of the Delhi Police also.

It is quite astonishing the manner in which he was arrested on Friday. The MLA, a public representative, himself went to meet the Police top brass, was questioned then what was the need to arrest him on Friday?

The action of Delhi Police, on a motivated allegation, is highly condemnable and suspicious. It is clear that the arrest has been done to divert attention from some other issues.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) would not be cowed down by such acts and will the party strongly reiterates that it will continue working for the people of Delhi, specially the poor and the marginalized

Arvind Kejriwal, AAP intensify demand for polls in Delhi

New Delhi: With December coming to an end and no election dates still announced, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has intensified the demand on social media to conduct fresh polls in Delhi. “There is some unconfirmed news going on that election dates could be postponed to April,” party spokesperson Atishi Marlena said. AAP sources said the party is apprehensive that the poll dates may be pushed to April if the election results in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand are not favourable to BJP. It is also expecting the election will be held in February this year, which mark one year of President’s rule in Delhi. “By-polls were to be conducted in the last week of November, but the assembly itself was dissolved last month. More than a month has passed, elections dates have not been announced,” a party source said. “We feel that the BJP may play tricks and get the election delayed under some pretext or the other. We want to initiate the debate to declare the poll dates at the earliest,” a party sou
